ok. i've been searching through this site for a long time and reading the various threads on flashing, backing up, hot swapping and such but am very confused when it comes to just backing up an original game. Which is the best way: hot swapping or just using a bunch of programs or am i just completely lost? Could someone please clarify between the two different ways and maybe give me some advice on which one to use. Thanks.

same olde ,,, same olde ....LOL :p

i have tried the hotswap method but to be honest i think it is too much hard work plus you will have to keep the hotswap drive connected to your pc and sit it on the top or likewise meaning you will have to create a hole in the side of your tower or leave the side casing off for the ide cable unless you create or modify another way.. i own a samsung sh 162c drive flashed with the kreon firmware this is indeed very easy to use as the drive is installed in my pc :) simply insert a xbox or xbox360 game and rip it to the hard drive then burn it to a dual layer disc there is some great info at the top of this forum in the sticky threads you can also find a couple of guides by clicking my user name .... as soon as i get the time i will create the guides for here ..

there are tons of these drives on ebay, albeit, they can be rather expensive. I paid CDN$60 for mine, from Germany, but it was worth it, and I got it in a week.

@backup: This is probably a dumb question, but here goes: When I backup a 360 game using Xbox Backup Creator, every backup is the same size, 7,395,392KB. Is this normal? I noticed GameCube backups are the same way (irrelevant, but interesting none the less).

I just found Vesaila computers. Are they located in Germany? I put my order in but I guess I have to wait for an email regarding shipping and payment info.
