Sometimes when you convert movie .avi files to .mpg, it gives error and stop converting after few hours. May be comp gets out of memory or heats up. Then I have to start again and it always convert from the biginning of file. Sometimes half of the movies are converted and it would be good to start from halfway to convert the file from where it left. In DVDx, I can forward the frames of movie in the sliding bar and convert from where I want. This feature is lacking in TMPGEnc and it will be nice to have it.

ok well in tmpge if you are converting from an .avi to a .mpg then the VCD in most occasions will go over 2 cd's in tmpge, under settings/advanced/source range find where you need to split it, and then click set start then click to set end where you want the first cd to end and try that
