That doesn't seem to much like a problem with the PS2 or backup here are some things i should ask you first though...
1) Are you sure what you have is a DVD burner and not just a regular dvd drive to play dvd's ??? Also is DVD+R supported by the burner if in fact it is a burner ?
2) Is the blank disc scratched or worn out in anyway also what brand dvd's are you using ?
3) Have you tried DVDDecrypter to burn the MDF ??? The other day i burnt silent hill in MDF format on dvddecrpter with no problems maybe it's the software can you burn with anything else ex: Nero, dvddecrypter ect... ???

something is wrong, because your picture shows you have the setting of the "datatype" set to playstation 2,and thats impossible for dvd type images.
as suggested above, your drive is a LG dvd burner with old firmware
here is the direct link to the firmware that steimy posted,in case your not sure

Are you trying to burn both the MDS and MDF files?
You only want to burn the MDS file.
But that will not solve the problem of your burner not reading the blank disc. The only time i have ever had that happen is when my laser was starting to go bad on my Sony burner. It would have problems reading both blank DVD's and reatil DVD's

heres the screenshot of the problem in the DVD Decrypter..
i dont know what to do..
I'm sorry about that bro what i meant was try burning the MDS file because MDS is dvd cecrypter compatiable but i think you have to have the MDS with a ISO not a MDF as that is what it spits out when you rip a disc on DVD Decrypter BUT as steimy said that still doesn't solve the whole burner not reading blank disc problem....
