Hi, I have seen a file that does not have an ISO file but files like these:

rld-bsad.r00 Archive 47.68 M
rld-bsad.r01 Archive 47.68 M
rld-bsad.r02 Archive 47.68 M

etc etc

This is a PS2 game btw. So how do I burn this? Thank you very much. Sorry, I am a n00b at burning Ps2 games, never tried it before:P

that still sounds like rar files to me.
did you try both the right click anmd extract method
and loading a file manually into WinRAR?

can you take a screen shot of what they look like?

only other way i have seen that many file is when someone uses a program to split the file and you need to join them with HP Join to make the ISO file
but that is really rare.

im ging to fix your problem, if you have a set of files that are rar.oo1 and rar.oo1 or something than double clik on that rar file and their should be an iso in that rar, extract it and bingo you have an iso.

I know about rar files guys... I have used them for a while now...

the files are suikoden.001, suikoden.002 and so on..

not suikoden.r01 or something like that

I changed it to open with WinRAR and it says

The archive is either an unknown format or damaged..

when I right click it .. it doesnt have extract

the exact file name is e-suiko5.001 and so on

open WinRAR

options/settings/intergration......where it says "user defined archive extensions",type in .001/clickok

go back to the rar archives, and the first rar file,(.001) will now be right clickable

Right click the suikoden.001 file -> Open with -> WinRAR archiver -> Extract To (Second icon on top) & Click OK

The ISO or folder containing the ISO should appear in the same folder as the .001 files after the extraction is finished....

It's definitely rar files but it's probably corrupted or was renamed incorrectly, no offense but i think we gave you more then enough info on how to open it... i have downloaded so many huge files that were split into those exact types of WinRAR archives and all of them worked fine unless the download was not completed correctly! if you think it's not a WinRAR file then go google and look for whatever program it is you think will open it lol

001, 002, 003 are file extensions are applied to compressed spanned archives & used by WinRAR or Power Archiver etc..
The easiest way to extract the iso file inside is thus;

1. Open WinRAR
2. Browse to folder that contains aforementioned files.
3. Highlight the first file (usually .001) with a single left mouse click.
4. Click the 'Extract To' button at the top of WinRAR
5. Choose the folder to extract to, or accept WinRAR's suggestion, then click OK
6. iso file will extract. Burn as usual.

If that doesn't work, then either your PC's f**ked, or if you've downloaded from a torrent, then you've not actually finished downloading the files properly.

@ace,lol @ pc fecked!!!!

just to add again tho, older versions of WinRAR dont recognised .001 files, and version 3.6 and above added the "add extension" feaure to overcome this
taken from rarlabs
Quote:
Additional file name extensions for archive formats supported
by WinRAR can be specified in the "User defined archive extensions"
field on the "Integration" page of the "Settings" dialog. For example,
if you have files with ".001" extension, which are in RAR format,
you can enter "001" here to associate WinRAR with such files.
still suprises me tho,how many users get stumped on a few different files formats

good luck

Try HJSPLIT!!! It worked for me when WinRAR was unable to join the files. Infact THEY WERE NOT WinRAR FILES. Sometime one has to look a bit further than what they are used to...

pietjebol,
just so you know i said that about 13 posts above you.
So stop with the caps like you are correcting people for
their errors with you vast knowledge.
and HJ Join is what you should use to join the files back into
an ISO file.

Steimy, I am not trying to correct anyone. It's just after your post that HJsplit was completely ignored, and people were trying to get this thing to work withg WinRAR only. No other suggestions were made, apart from that the file must be corrupted instead. That's too easy...

And how can I be sure? Cos that's the same version I downloaded, and there's an iso file inside that I extracted with WinRAR.
