I have a few questions before i hop into my car and race away to get myself a xbox 360. It would be very kind of you to answer them.

- I have SONY DVD RW DRU 810A. Is the writer good enough to make and play backup game properly? Will it give any problems?

-Are Sony's, Imitation's or TDK's DVD RW DL good enough for running backup games?

-I am going to buy a pre-modded Xbox 360, and i am not aware of which firmware or which version of the firmware it will have. What i want to know is that will new games work even if the firmware is not really up to date? Because i dont think i have enough technological knowledge to flash the box myself.

-My Xbox 360 will be able to play both NTSC and PAL games, right?

These are the basic foundation questions, if received a positive reponse, will enable me to buy a Xbox 360. Thank you for reading. Please do reply.

Even when the box is flashed? I have heard that it enables both NTSC and PAL versions.

Not true. Flashing doesn't change the rules of region locking since the only thing you are doing is running 1:1 copies.

on the other questions:

-That burner should work.

-I've never heard of anyone using any of those brands. So I guess that should say something, but they could who knows? They could work. However, it's DL DVD+R only and not RW.

-It's Hitachi drives only that require the latest firmware to run new retail games. Since you aren't going to be putting it on yourself just tell whoever is doing you what the latest firmware so you can run all new retail games if you have get a Hitachi.

Unforturnately, i am in a PAL region. So how much time a PAL version takes to release??

And what do you mean by DL DVD+R only? Are there no DVDRW's??

Some games aren't region locked. It's up to the publisher. Google Xbox 360 Region free games list. Also http://www.gamefaqs.com is a good source of info to see when game are released by region. Right no DVD+RWs. They don't booktype right which is essential for a 360 back up to work.
