I am trying to connect a JVC XV-S300BK to an APEX AT2702 TV with the basics connections (S-Video jack and only yellow and white RCA). When I connected the S-Video cable to both I only get a black and white picture. I don't understand why I don't have a color picture and need help. (I inherited this machine from my father who passed away and I don't have a manual.) There is a switch on the back of the DVD player to change from Component to S-Video and I changed this which gave me the picture. My TV doesn't have the proper hook-up, as stated, for components . . . any advice?
