hello.....i am having problems getting my metal gear solid 3 subsistence disc 1 backup to work. the disc actually refused to work on my hp dvd writer before, but when i tried it on a sony dvd writer, it worked flawlessly...so i did everything told about making a backup and managed to get a working backup of disc 2 but disc 1 just does not work at all. even after 4 tries im almost going nuts. i cant play the original disc on my ps2 properly because its too scratched and fmv stutters and game locks up just before a fmv scene. i have seen many tutorials for different games but didnt notice mgs3s. can anyone help pls. do i need to patch the game?

No patch is required, but if you use Swap Magic to boot your backups, then you may need to use CDLoader (or DVDLoader) as an additional swap.

i dont need swap magic nor cd/dvd loader to boot my backups...its already modded.(but i dunno which chip..but i know double tap reset button to play psx games).i have made many copies of backups so far thanks to the guides here..but this mgs3s just wont work...plus i just noticed sumthing....there are directories inside the disc. they are in this order
system.cnf
slus_213.59
netdown.elf
ntcnf(dir)
modules(dir)
license(dir)
abc(dir)
mgs(dir)
dummy.dat
there is a text file inside the license directory which on opening is all jumbled and unreadable font. but the one from the original dis is readable. sumthing bout license and networking and stuffs like that. could this be the problem...and do the files inside the directories like mgs, modules, ntcnf etc have to be in the exact same order as the original??
i am totally out of ideas...this is one game i want to b able to play again. here finding games for ps2 is very difficult so no chance for me to get another copy of the gamne.
pls do reply if any solution
