Need help installing windows xp pro onto a brand new PC

Please Help!

Ok,
So iv just purchased a cumstom built pc off www.computerplanet.co.uk
It gave me the option of wether i wanted to pay extra for windows on it
But i already had a WINDOWS XP PRO disk at home,
I was going to install this disk i had myself
I thought all i had to do was put the disk in my disk drive and it would start the install process.
Obviously not

Soo Please could someone tell me how i can install windows on a black pc, PLEASE!

I would be greatful of any help

You probably need to access the bios and set it to boot from cd/dvd rom drive which ever you have then reboot once that's done it should read the disk and start the process you will have to answer a few questions and then it pretty much is self automated for about 30minutes have some tea love and that should doit
did they supply you with the software drivers for your hardware?

do you have a full or upgrade version of xp? if only the upgrade, you need another full version of a previous windows OS to install.

that's true but it won't ask you for that until it's in the boot process and initial installation.

thanks alot for the help

now for the actual problem ...

turns out my stupid dad plugged the monitor into the wrong slot on the back of pc lol

its all fixed and done now,

elliot: Jess, it is quite good. I have also tried help people in my country (Finland) where not all folk talking english but "computer culture" is very high. Hi, off topic, I am here to practicing my poor english, my 3. or 4. language.
