Given gigantic warning every place you turn (how-to threads, downgraders , etc) my guess would be that indeed - if you try it - you will have a brick.

itsa not downgrading its just emulating from flash. i have seen in 2 places that this is fine for ta-082ers
Just want some more confirmation before i try. i need tog et devhoook 0.50 running. this seems the only way.

My bad - I'm still new to the terminolgy ;-) Have had my PSP for only a week... If you mean something like what's described in this howto:

then I can tell you it's 100% safe - I've done it on two separate TA-082 PSPs myself :-)

If you mean something else - please tell me what you mean.

Also - if you manage to run 0.50 and emulate 2.82 on a TA-082 - please let everybody know the steps! I'd be quite interested in getting that running (I have a couplde games on pre-order and I'm guessing I will not be able to acutally use them unless I either upgrade to 2.81 or find a way to reliably emulate it...)

that is the method but instead of running 1.5 off the ms ie firmware dump it needs to be emulated off the flash. I think this is possible. not 100% about safety tho. at the moment we cant run 0.5 because we have to emulate 1.5 aswell (both off the ms = doesnt work)

I see now what you mean by 'flash.' Sorry - can't help you there ;-) I've only felt comfortable trying methods that run everything off memory stick and don't write anything to flash. But if you do figure out the safety aspect of re-writing flash on TA-082 - I'm sure others here will be quite interesting.

On a realted note - I've been poking at .50 related threads and ppl claim it's still quite buggy. May be worth waiting for a more polished release...

Actually after thinking about it I don't think it is safe.I think the lowest we can mess with is 2.50 anything lower than that is unsafe.If you do flash lower than 2.50 your chances of messing up your psp system are high.

hey 2nam got news from chunglam he said we cannot flash files in emulated 1.50.coz u need devhook .45 and .46.can't do anything about now.
