Hello I have looked around the forums but cant get a clear idea of which chips can go online with backups of games. I have a silver 77001 and am looking for a midrange modchip that can go online with back up games.

thanks for u r recommendations.

if you only want a chip to go online with the Crystal chip would be my suggestion as it has auto DNAS patching capability. most any chip will work if you patch the disc id prior to burning the game. my personal suggestion to anyone for a chip is the DMS4 Pro SE, second would be the Matrix Infinity greendot and then the Crystal chip.

Hi thanks for the reply. I was just wondering though would the other modchips that you mentioned be able to go online or is it only the crystal modchip.
thanks

most every chip can go online, the only thing the crystal chip does is it auto patches the DNAS code to the disc so you do not have to do that prior to burning the ISO file. with the DMS/Matrix you have to use WinDip to patch the DNAS code to the ISO file prior to burning it to disc.

I had a modchip installed in Chinatown here in NY that totally disabled the online capability of the PS2. They warned me before installing it that I will never ever be able to play online again. I agreed since I have 2 PS2. I am a newbie to mods so I assumed all chips do this but after reading here on this site, I was proven wrong. My question is, where in NY can I have my mod reinstalled with a different ship that wont enable the online gaming still. I will be using original games for online and at the same time use back ups for non online games. Just easier for me not to plug in 2 ps2's. Pleas help. I have no tools nor the skill for modding myself.

I just saved a bunch on my car insurance by fleeing the scene of the accident.

Small correction here ....

The CC doesnt patch the disc thats imposable... it patched the PS2 on the fly with the DNAS ID.

Yes the CC chips are good for this, and are also very reliable chips.

I would suggest one as well.

Have fun!

well if it is so good why dosnt it seem to have all the lengthy options that the other chips have. I dont think i have any need for most of those options, so was wondering if they are worth getting.
