tell which drive your xbox 360 is based on the box (i.e. without having to open it)?

I guess box can be used synonomous with xbox 360. I meant the actual package the xbox 360 comes in. Basically, I am trying to get a 360 at costco and I would like to get a hitachi drive. Therefore, I would rather check the package rather than go home and open it to see which drive I have based on those pictures.

Nah it's super simple. Get a SIL3112 SATA card and download SLAX. Instant ModeB and easy as hell to flash with OPA 2.3

is there a way to tell if its a 0078 without opening the 360, cuz i got a hitachi and im not sure if i should open it and viod the warranty or, just take it back to the store and exchange it?

Again http://www.360drives.com/list?sort=lotno is really the only way. That's not even 100% foolproof. Basic rule of thumb is if it's a PAL 360 and manufacture date is older than July it's probably a 0078fk. With the US they started showing up about a month later. So there you go.
