Swap Magic Coder DVD Troubles

I got Swap magic coder a few days ago, and I installed my flip top cover on my v15 slim ps2, and booted the dvd version successfully. So last night I backed up Guitar Hero 2 and played the game for about 3 hours. Then today I accidentally started the ps2 with the backed up game in the drive and it said "please insert ps2 format disk." So I inserted my swap magic coder DVD, and it said "please insert ps2 format disk." My ps2 will now say the smd DVD is not a valid ps2 format disk, but will still boot the cd version. I tried the SMD DVD in another kids slim ps2, and it booted perfectly. Is there something wrong with my ps2 that is causing the DVD to not load correctly? My ps2 will boot all other games that I have fine.
