Thought i'd share this for people that do not know, I have just been speaking to a disk supplier about Verbatim's and have been told that Verbatim had a huge consisnment of dodgy disks & thats why all the uk stores are out of stock. None are expected to be sent out from Verbatim until mid January at the Earliest :-(

How true this is I'm not sure but thought its worth sharing with you.

As a stop gap I have been using the Aone 8X on a Pioneer 111d (FW 1.29) and burning at 8X without problem.(Also tried 4x & 6x without Problem)
Fact is I'll probably keep using them now! and half the price of Verbs :)

Also tried the RiDisc 8x even when set on 8x they only burnt at approx 2.4-3X still worked but I guess the Pioneer FW doesn't support them yet.

I know, verbatims are hard to get hold of over here. I always use SVP for disks, and even SVP have acknowledged they are in very short supply. However, I use Ricoh DVD+R DL 2.4x disks. Excellent quality, actually a bit more expensive than verbatim's I think last time i looked. About £15 for a 10 pack. Ive had 1 coaster out of about 12 and that was my own fault because I messed up the burn.

Edit:Forgot to say my burner is a Pioneer 108. First DL Pioneer burner and it still knocks them out flawlessly, cant fault it.
