Can I use dvd+r DL to back up movie?

I bought a season of "the Sopranos". I'd like to make a backup, can I use DVD+R DL's?

Of coarse you can....it's easy too. Rip with DVDFab Decrypter and then burn to DL using Imgburn in build mode and don't forget to booktype your DVD+R's.

make sure your burner has the capabilities of burning to a DL disk. put in your model # here and check to see about your burner:

Please bear with me if this is pretty basic stuff, but I'm new to all this.

I've been using "ripit4me" (dvd decryptor + DVD Shrink)then imgburn. Do I only change the book type in imgburn? Since I only need to decrypt, (no need to shrink right?) do I need to change decrypt settings?

Thanks for the link, my burner will use the DL's.

Click the links in my first post...they are guides to help you from start to finish. DVD Shrink is not needed in this instance...If you have already ripped the entire disc via RipIt4Me, you can proceed straight to the Imgburn step to burn your disc.

If you already booktyped your drive you don't have to keep setting the booktyping every time you burn a +R disk. the drive is already booktyped and should stay booktyped until you change the settings. At least my drives are that way.

Depends on the drive really...some revert back after the program is shut down, others use a utility to set the booktype until changed back to DVD+R.
