hi, i am new to this forum, so if this post does not belong here, please delete/move it. my ps2 disc drive has just broken recently. i am not planning to fix it since doing so would cost more than buying a used one off ebay. So i want to backup all my games into my hard drive and play from there. After reading the tutorial, it seems like i still need my ps2 to read the hdloader disc. is there a way to get around it? my ps2 is v4 and currently not modded. I am planning to get xeno ps (because its cheap). If i understand this thing correctly, dev1 and dev2 allows ps2 to run program off hd or memory card right? if so, can i put my hdloader into one of those 2? Also, my friend has a non-modded working ps2 if that helps.

Sorry for being such a noob. I just started learning all these things yesterday. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. my ps2 is making some kinda grinding sound when i put in a disc. I assume this is a very serious problem, so i wont bother fixing it. If someone think this is a easy fix. let me know.
