Hi

Not quite sure how to explain this, but here goes...

I've been making some disc images of audio CDs. The vary in length so, consequently, when you make a CD using that image, the burn will go from the inside of the CD to various distances (the actual burn line that you can see on the underside). Is there a way to "fill in" the rest of the space so that you can't see a burn mark but that wont affect the play of the CD when in a home stereo or whatever?

Presently I'm just using Roxio to make the disc image, but I also have Nero.

I hope this makes sense.

i think to fill out the whole disk without having burn marks, u need to have the full 700mb worth of data. i'm not sure though, just a thought.

Yeah, that is what I thought of, but that kind of defeats the purpose of creating an image in the first place. And how would I add data that wont be used for anything?

you would have to add dummy files in some way. why does this bother you, though? data isn't pressed all the way to the edge in cd-roms.

someone trying to pass off Backups as originals it would bother

granted if you're smart enough you're still going to see it's a backup reguardless if it uses the whole disc or not .. but if it doesn't use the whole disc it's more obvious that it isn't an original.. That's the only reason I could think of someone wanting to do it...

Actually, there is no licensed master. It's our audio files of our training sessions that we record and pass to participants (current, past and future). We're now printing our CDs so that they look professional and my boss wanted to have them look as "real" as possible (even though they're not a "copy" persay) and wanted to get rid of the burn mark if possible. There's nothing dodgy at all, just merely trying to look professional using the resources we have.
