I just want to ask the mods, why are most of the threads closed?

EDIT- I was passing through and looking at what was new and noticed that, so if you can, just give a straight answer and close this thread to after answering if the reasons are obvious(such as if the threads are all the same thing).

It might have to do with maintence. I would go to all the threads that should be in page1 and just reply to keep them in page one or update them. I would do it but am on a sidekick and will take to long for me until I get home and update on pc.

I asked Creaky this earlier via PM ad he (is Creaky a he?) said that he is just thinning the heard of the many duplicate posts here, such as availability os PS3, where to find them etc. He got tired though and instead of fixing it he chose to go to sleep.. personally I think sleep is overrated... but Creaky thinks he needs it. I assume it will be cleared up in a day or two... or more since we're dealing with Creaky. ;-)

somtimes i think its a power thing ive seen a few threads get closed even tho there was some good discusion going on it really annoys me sometimes!!

nope, no power thing here; what's annoying is the amount of irrelevant crap that goes on in these console forums. but things are a'changing, 'fraid it might result in much cleaner forum rooms, closed threads should hopefully become the norm; once a thread has served it's purpose there's no need for it to be left open in my opinion.
Forums are supposed to be a haven of information, not chatrooms, a closed thread full of info can be referred to by those that need the info, far better than whole pages of threads consisting of, well, chat from what i can see.

Discussion is fine, however even then, most topics don't need to be discussed endlessly. I'm sure the dedicated console posters among you would welcome this place being cleaned up more, and as someone who posts (ie more than i have to mod) in the more 'grown up' forums ie DVD related forums, i know first hand that cleaner more civilised forums are better for everyone.
