I have the samsung sh-d162c drive with Kreon v.81 for the pc. I have made 1 backup (Dead Rising) using that and schtrom v3.0 and it made a backup in about 10 mins. I tried to make a backup of my GOW and it took almost 2 hrs to make that copy of it.

So I thought maybe its an isolated issue with the game. So I tried Saints Row and it also took close to 2 hrs. So I upgraded to v3.1 and still same problem. Then I tried XBC and that took just as long.

Anyone know why this is a problem now? Has anyone had this problem? And does anyone know a fix for it? TIA

are the settings the same in schtrom on all three copy attempts? also are gow and SR scratched or anything like that? if they are scratched this can cause the back up time to increase dramatically.

The settings are whatever it was defaultly. And none of the games ive tried have any scratches on them. Actually now that I think about it, Dead Rising had a scratch on it and thats the one that worked.

could be a long shot .... but is your sammy drive set to use the DMA transfer mode??? also are you multi tasking

Im not sure about the DMA thing. I bought the drive pre-flashed on ebay. And no Im not multitasking.

look here ... http://www.aiscl.co.uk/How_to_SetorRemoveDMAXP.htm dont bother taking the case off just follow the instructions and make sure the dma is set if available and not pio mode this may not be the problem ....when was the last time you defragged and just did a general cleanup

Thanks, i'll take a look at that when I get home. The last time I did a clean up was about a month ago. I had to reformat everything b/c windows was acting up so thats when I installed the drive. And everything has been working fine since then, except this whole issue.

I have an xbox360 with the xtreme firmware upgrade and want to be able to back up my games

I have downloaded Schtrom360Xtract V3.1 and don't know what to do next?
