ok i just got it...its syas "swap magic3 plus" "PAL version 3.6" can i play DVD backups with this? it doesnt say if it its for CD or DVD...my mate gave me his... Also where can i download Ps2 games cuz i cant find torrents anywere (they go tooooo slow and not many of them are PAL) is there a site were ppl upload to rapidshare and stuff? thnanks in advance!

If it says "Compact Disc" somewhere in the left hand side of it then it is the CD version, if it says "DVD" somewhere on the left hand side then it is the dvd version and you can play DVD based games with it, You can play both NTSC and PAL games using swap magic by simply switching modes and if that doesn't work you can convert NTSC to PAL if you'd like, The only place we are allowed to recommend here are torrents as the rest are illegal if your torrents are moving slow then try opening up the ports on your router and or PC using this guide: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/73686

yo man its says "compact disc on it"! does this mean i cant download games now? and also can u PM the other site cuz i already opened ports! an dmy games are like 2.35gb so how can that fit on a cd?!?! thanks.,

If it says "Compact Disc" On it then you can only play CD based games which makes up only about 1.3% of PS2 games you can find a list here: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/29139 In order to play DVD games which makes up 98.7% you will need the DVD version BUT there is a method to play DVD games on the cd version but it will take about 4 swaps before you can load the backup + you will need a blank cd-r (alot of work) You also can't send links to illegal content via PM so that's also out of the question try a warez site if you have to many of them have rapidshare link ps2 games.

ok heres how you play DVD backups with your Swap Magic CD.
Load up Swap Magic CD version.
When it says insert game or TOC (something like that) press eject and put in an ORIGINAL PS2 Game.. preferably one of the GTA's (GTA San Andreas, GTA Vice City or GTA III)
Wait for the TOC to refresh..
then it will say load program or something like that.. this is where you use the slide tool to open the disc tray, remove your original game and then put in your backup/copied game..
Then slide the tray back to the left and press "X".
Then the backup/copied game will load =)

nixz's method may work for you but it didn't work for my new slim ps2 anyhow i have made this step by step thingy that i posted for you on the other post/thread you asked that question on.....
Here are the steps i use and wrote on using the swap magic cd disc to boot dvd based games... You will need to download CDLoader v.7 and burn it to a disc for this:
1. Load Swap Magic CD version, Insert CDLoader v7 and press X on load program
3. After CDLoader v7 has loaded remove the tissue or whatever is blocking point 1 (near the bottom left hand side of the lid)
5. Insert any original GTA or high TOC dvd game, place the tissue or piece back and X to reload.
6. If you have done everything correctly and in order you should now see a message saying something like "Change disc with a DVDR game using EA method"
7. Remove the original GTA or high TOC disc and insert your backup/import DVD based game then finally press X
It may seem like a lot because it requires 3 swaps before the backup but i have used this flawlessly and it also gives better results on games such as scarface which sometimes requires more then just swap magic to work.

well I don't know any RS links to PS2 games, but there are torrent sites with PS2 games. Just type on google "PS2 Torrents" and something should come up =)

yeah use my way, I have the fat PS2 as well..
Youngwun0's way will only work if you have the slimline PS2 but you don't, so I suggest you use my way. Yes it does work for me, whenever I have time I always boot up my games that way. =)

nope it won't say that..
remember your GTA has to be an original copy, one you bought from the shops or whatever.

Well if the PS2 game is about 4.37GB then it may need rebuilding, it is usual to find games that size but Swap Magic isn't able to play them properly and so you need to rebuild them ( Take a look at one of the PS2 rebuilding guides ) ANd a normal DVD dize is 4.7GB so yes it will definitely fit =)

Use the search button at the top, and type "Rebuilding PS2 Games" and you will see some guides. Follow the guides. =)

No, only for games that are 4.37GB and above. Those games don't work properly with Swap Magic and need rebuilding. The rebuilt ISO is smaller then the original ISO and works properly with Swap Magic.
