ok ive heard that the dms4 is the best chip because of the ability to boot hd loader, well thats all i really want to use it for, now what all do i need to use that feature? i knmow the chip and the ps2 of course but what software? how do i flash it? whats the best way?

You dont need the DMS4 to boot HDL. Any chip can boot HDL from a CD-R. Chip like the MI and Cc can boot HDL from your memory card or HDD with no disc in your PS2 at all. The DMS4 Pro used Toxic OS which is much like HDL.

However if you have a slim PSTwo you will not be able to use HDL or Toxic OS unless you have a V12/13 PSTwo and either HD-Combo or HD-Connect installed to allow you to use an IDE HDD.

If you have a V14/15 PSTwo your out of luck and the only solution for you is USBAdvance/Extreme which is a very buggy solution and has very low compatibility with games.
