Hey there guys could you help with a problem I've got, I just got these new 16x Taiyo Yuden DVD-R's and I burned Ace Combat Zero onto one I burned one at 16x and one and 2x and I still have a problem with choppy cutscenes, this has also happened on my xbox when playing NFSU2 the cutscenes lag and the words become out of sync is it a laser that needs cleaning or what? thanks

Try burning at 8x
U should also buy 8x dvd-r's. Ive had a few problems with 16x medias. But no problems at all with 8x.
And the rule I always use is burn at half the speed of the recommended.

So since I always get 8x times I always burn at 4x.
Maybe try 8x on yours, if not try another top brand 8x media.

SO This also happens on your xbox using the same media?

If so, try another media. I know Tony is one of the top rated but you could have had a bad dispatch or something.
Try buying a single top media to test if its the media, if not could be part of ya pc.

Taiyo and verbs 16x are nowhere near as good as the 8 speed were on most burners / slim pS2s .

Best dvd for slim PS2 IMO are the 16x sony accucores that burn great at 4x or 8x

Theres plenty of threads on here rergarding probs with taiyo 16x and as the verbs are usually taiyos the same applies , best to use them for dvd players and not you PS2 , skipping video means that your laser will also be struggling reading and re reading data for game also and wont be long before your laser bites the dust.

Do yourself a favour and buy another media pref DVD+R and burnt with dvd dycrypter as bit set dvdrom

Well probably best you clean the laser carefully!!!

If it still happens its the media not liking your burner or PS2 , I have honestly not found ONE PS2 after V14 that likes these t- yuden or verb 16x despite what some people have said on here and beileve me I tried 4 different burners and cant even give the ones I burnt away as they dont work on anyones PS2.

Same ISOs by the way work with no skipping at all on any PS2 Ive tried when burnt on Sony Accucores they also load as fast as originals so less laser burn..
Ive been burning since the early PS1 days so dont really think its down to lack of experiance , IMHO Taiyos are no longer the number 1 disk for either xbox or PS2 , the 16x suck , 8 speeds were a classic but those days are gone.

Sell em or use em for dvd players burnt at 8 or 16 speed they hate 4 spped especially on NEC and Liteon burners.

oh yea one thing i would like to know what's the big deal with 8x 16x TY DVD's or any other high media DVDs for that matter is it because the ps2s laser cant read 16x burns properly?

Its just that the TY 16x dye is not the same as its 8x but things have to move on so 8x will get very scarce

The Sony Accucores are 16x and they are great and as there are no rip off Sonys I acn get these from Asda/Wallmart and prefer to pay the extra than risking getting some non genuine TYs from online , Ive had that before.

Although SVP are a great reliable firm if they have the 8x , Ill stick to my Sonys from now on for PS2 my NEC drives love em as well.
