HD Loader help

Ok, now i know there is a thread dedicated to HD Loader or HD advance, there may even be an HD xtreme now think. But i searched through that, and it just seemed too advanced for me, or maybe i just missed something.

But anyways, all i want to know is if i have a stock ps2, nothing done to it, pretty sure its a version that can use the IDE harddrive. What do i need to do to get it to load my games to a harddrive to improve the load times, and save on the laser.

I saw on Judgement Day on g4, they reviewed it, and said that all you have to do is, buy the loader and a compatible harddrive with the ps2 and just load them on. No chips, no or opening up the ps2 or anything. No formatting the harddrive on in my pc.

From what im reading it doesnt seem that simple.

If you guys could help me out, that would be awesome. I would appreciate very much, because my ps2 is getting old, and i would like to be able to preserve it.

try using this site it really helped me when i did it to my ps2. it has all the programs and explaines all the exploites that you need to do clearly

so if i download one of those files, on that site for the free HD loader or HD advance, and install a harddrive, thats about all i would have to do. And my ps2 will play that burned disc, even if my ps2 is not modded.

No the ps2 wont play that backup without a mod or swap magic etc.

For the easiest set up you NEED.

HDadvance, the latest version for better compatibilty (Have to buy it)
or you can download the ones from that site, and ORDER SWAP MAGIC. (Thats the best way, cause you can do so much more then just play games off the hdd.)
Network Adaptor that plugs into the back of you fat ps2. Needed to plug the hdd in.
And a compatible HDD from here http://ps2drives.x-pec.com/?p=list

you can get it to play backedup games off the hard drive without swap magic and without a chip in your ps2 there is a tutorial on the site that i gave you earlier that will show you how to launch hd loader without it, it is a memory card exploit. you will need a ps1 game. thats how i did it in one of my non modded ps2s

How did you get the exploit onto the memory card with an unmodded ps2?
You would still need someway to play the memcard exploit cd to install it? E.g. swap magic, action replay, mod?.

Maybe someone installed the exploit to his MC for him?

Anyway the best solution is a modchip with dev1/2 mode that can boot HDL without the need of any disc.
