I am getting the DMS 4 Pro SE.

After I get the modchip installed, what do I do? Do the chips come preflashed, being able to do everything(play backups, ect.) that its supposed to do or do I have to flash it myself. If I have to flash it myself, where do I get the set of software to flash the chip the first time, and how do I flash it?

also I read that I have to patch the games before burning them to a dvd, where do I get those programs also?

I am new to PS2 modding but i have modded my xbox so i am not new to modding; i am just not sure where to get all the things needed to make the games/chip work the first time

Any info is greatly appreciated

it'll come preflashed with the DMS flash that will boot only 'homebrew' applications, you'll need to flash it with Toxic OS v0.41 (for your Pro)which you can get from Team Toxics website (search is a wonderful tool) you'll also find the instructions for burning the flash disc and flashing there too.

just so you know the innards of a PS2 are nothing at all like a XBOX, anybody with halfassed soldering skills can mod an XBOX with no problems, the same can't be said for the PS2.

EDIT: the only patching that is required with a DMS chip is the DNAS code for online play, you do that with WinDIP (again search is your friend)

i dont think i have half ass sodlering skills but i have a dead ps2board so ill practice on that b4 i try to install the modchip on my ps2
