Hi All, i've seen a few threads on this but can't post to them because they are older than 60 days.

I have a 6230 that is asking for a restriction code. I'm in the UK and I previously had an Orange sim in the phone. I am now trying to use my new Orange sim in the phone and it's asking me for the code.

Orange have told me that it's because the new sim is for a 3G smartphone and won't work in the old phone, does this sound correct?

My IMEI number is 355040005067407

Thanks in advance for any help

Alan

I have found the NokiaFree software and generated my own codes, but I think I've already hard locked my phone, if i have the correct cable can I unlock it myself? Does anyone know how to do this or will I have to go into a shop?

Many thanks,

Alan
