HDD not playing games anymore HELP???

it used to play games like a normal HDD but one day i tried to play guitar hero II and it wouldnt boot, it went to the game select screen in hdloader but it wont boot any of my games i then reformatted it and then tried putting games back on.......and none of them work PLEASE HELP!!!!

Maybe the HDD has failed? Stick it in your PC & run a disc drive diagnostic tool on it, preferably a tool from the manufacturer of the drive, so if it's a Maxtor, then run Maxtor's HDD Utility on it.

well, since i have a modchip with built in HDD functions i am
not sure. But if the PS2 still functions well without using the HDD i would say it is more likely a hard drive problem.

Only real solution i would know is to take it out, stick it into the PC and use a program to format it to the standard PS2 format.
Then put a game on it and stick it back into the PS2 for a test.

how did you get guitar hero 2 on to your hd in the first place??? mine wont work
