I recently purchased the swap magic 3.8 cd/dvd coder discs. I have no problem getting the discs to load. When I swap my backup disc after swap magic boots, I hit normal, then hit default. The screen will show the memory card and disc. Then I move the button to highlight disc and hit x. The screen will say booting disc in drive, then I will have a black screen for about 1/2 minute and go right back to the same screen with the memory card and disc. Sometimes the screen will turn black and do nothing after that. I know I've burned the image correctly. I've used Img Burn to burn an image to my HD, and then write the ISO to disc at a 2x speed. Also, I know the game is a dvd, because the original says dvd, and the disc is approx. 4gb. I've tried searching a few forums, and can't find answers. I've also tried going to swapmagicfix.com and even though it lists fixes for games, I can't even click on the patches to download them. Is there something I don't know to doing this. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, SM3.8 is well known for having problems, its all over different sites. A very buggy app.
That aside, your problem could be a number of things, ranging from bad quality of media used, to the game being too big to boot with SM to you not having a proper swap method (fliptop replacement case, magic key set etc..) or poor fitting of the swap method.
More info would be needed before the problem can be diagnosed;
1. What brand disc are you using, and what's their max speed?
2. Do you have a swap method to change disc?
3. What game is it?
Provide as much info as you can to help find your problem.
I'm using Imation DVD-RW's right now because I've tried a few on Verbatim DVD-R's and I didn't want to throw any more disk's away until I found out the problem. I'm burning at 2x speed. Also, I have a flip top case. I've tried burning Shadow the Hedgehog, Tomb Raider-Angel of Darkness, and Ghost Recon2. My playstation is an older model, so it isn't a slim model. I've also been having problems with Swap Magic Coder 3.8, i've burnt on both 1x and 2x speed on sony DVD-RW and phillip's DVD+RW and tried it many times and every time i go onto the swap menu and click Normal > Default it goes back to the memory card screen and then comes up saying "please insert a PlayStation or PlayStation 2 format disk" oh and ive been trying to play Final Fantasy XII and Suikoden III
