Well, if you have Nero, you could just start with a Video-DVD compilation. HOWEVER...

Since you're dealing with a double layer, understand that Nero and most other software does not handle DL burning well. You might get freezes at the layer break. The link below contains a guide to using PGCEdit to set the layer break proplerly and burn. The guide is a bit dated and newer versions of PGCEdit support IMGBurn and the menus are laid out slightly differently, but all the relevant stuff is there for you to do the job and do it right. Once you have PGCEdit set up properly, it just takes a couple of mouse clicks to open a VIDEO_TS folder, set the layer break, and burn. And you don't really have to do anything besides go through the motions.

-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.

before this thread i tried using Nero, but i put all the files in the video_ts folder and i ended up with no audio. burning process itself seemed to work fine tho.

You might want to preview the stuff you have on your hard disk with PowerDVD, Media Player Classic, VLC, whatever, to make sure they were ripped correctly.

k ill try that, thanks.

also, curious about a couple things in your sig.

second, is that line about terrorists a direct quote from dick cheney, or did you get that from fox news channel?

@sans:
That would be threadjacking to go into detail. I'll be happy to PM you some sources if you like on how they celebrated on November 8th or how HD/BR is just a big scam. I'd rather stick to the topic for now and the HD thing has been discussed previously by myself and many others in the HD forums. Start a thread there or use PM if you want to diverge onto other topics.

It's against forum rules. Perhaps you ought to read them sometime. I'd love to go into how the terrorists celebrated on Nov. 8 and give you sources from the radical left's own mouthpieces, CNN, ABC, AP, etc., but a thread on Dual Layer burning is not the place to do it. You may have started the thread on DL burning, and just because you're itching for an argument, doesn't mean you own the place.

Pay attention to all of them, especially #8

Half my friends are in either Iraq or Afghanistan. What about you? Didn't think so either. But this is another irrelevant topic - I'm sure next you'll bring up how President Bush is responsible for rainy days or the fact that there's no life on Mars. Wonder what other off-topic and pointless stuff you'll try to diverge onto.

Again, you don't own the place. I wonder what makes you think you do.

P.S. My apologies for trying to help you with your DL problem. My bad. End of line.
