With just a few steps, you can easily enhance the look of your images without owning a polarizing filter.

First, select the photo you want to use:

Step 1: Open up the photo you would like to enhance in Photoshop and duplicate the layer.

Step 2: ?Ctrl? + ?Shift? + ?U? to desaturate the photo.

Step 3: Apply a gaussian blur between 40 - 70 pixels.

Step 4: Invert the colors (?Ctrl? + ?I?) and set the layer blend mode to overlay.

Step 5: Go ?Image? > ?Adjustments? > ?Levels?. Here is what I used however just experiment until you achieve the look you like.

The Final step is to simply mask the layer and there you have it - an enhanced image without using a polarizing filter.

Enjoy!
