when i convert my movie ghost ship, i convert the whole movie too mpeg then split it so that i can put it onto VCD. However the first part of the movie is great, but the second part the sound is off like you see what is going too happen before you hear it. Is it something i have done wrong? Any ideas how too fix it?? please help, thanks!

Does the sound seem to go further out of synch as the movie progresses? or is it constanly out by the same amount ?

very unusual for it to only happen on one disk, i would check the very end of the first cd to make sure its not out of synch there, if its not then i would load the mpeg for the second cd into TMPGenc and re encode it but in the settings under the advanced tab select "source range" and use the audio gap correct function to compensate. the problem is its just a guess as to how far out of synch the sound is, the best way to check it is to move the slider in the source range window to somewhere in the middle and hit set start frame , then move the slider on a couple of thousand frames and hit end frame, this will allow yout to encode a small part of the film to test the settings.
Try and find a part of the file that has a distinct noise in it like a door shutting or something this will make it easier to tell.

Patch the sound up using Virtual Dub and then use TMPGEnc to convert to mpeg2.

1. Get a program called AVI Split (http://ia.microdee.net/) you will also need a program called Nandub
2. Use AVI Split to split as you desire (essentially AVISplit is a front end for Nandub)

If you can still find it around, find a simple little programmed called AVIChop that will do the trick.
