Hello, I recently bought a product and I have been having troubles.
The DVD version of Swap Magic 3.6 works perfectly fine however the CD version 3.6 does not work for me.
Here's what happens,
1. I turn on the console with Swap Magic 3.6 and it comes to the "Load Program" screen
2. I switch out the Swap Magic and put in my burned CD.
3. I press X and it loads for a few seconds then "Not a Valid PS2 Disk" shows on the menu and the disk stops spinning.
The CD has worked on a mod-chipped console so I know that the CD itself works.
I have tried swapping Swap Magic CD with an actual game (Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Final Fantasy 8 Disc 3) and the same message shows up. Maybe I have a corrupted Swap magic CD disc? Btw my PS2 loads original CDs/PS1 games perfectly.
Reply back ASAP, thanks.

Yes because the game I'm trying to play is called Bust-a-Groove 2 and its definetly a PSX game.

um try this.... boot swap magic (cd version) then press eject and put in a game like GTA)...close it then it should load the screen for the game....then using the slider tool open the tray and swap your disc with the CD one!

How do you do it with a slim without getting the laser beamed in your eyes?

^^^LOL.. I'm having this exact same problem, but I'm trying to use DVD games. (I'm also asking this forum for a solution). I have the fat ps2 with a flip top lid. So yeah, how can we do it without getting the laser burned into our eyes? lol

I actually already tried that, but the disc still spins, and as I put in the backed up iso, it still spins and also if you press down wrong, you could risk scratching your laser.
Anywho, I tried it, and it still didn't work. It turned into a flaming red screen saying "insert a playstation 2 format cd" or something of the such.

Swap Magic is only for booting PS2 games. If it is a burnt PSX game it won't work with Swap Magic.

I don't have a suggestion.
I have played PSX games on an emulator on my PC since before I had a PS2.
The only PSX game I have is Tekken 3 anyway and these days I'd rather play Tekken 5.

Wowzers this is an easy to fix issue.
Simply put the Swap magic can only play ps2 games, it doesn't work with ps1 games.
what you need is a breaker pro, which is moderately cheap to buy. It allows you to play Ps1 games on the Ps2 and the PS1.
Your best bet is to get it from http://www.consoleasia.com . Currently there having a sale on that item. Just got my swap magic from them, and it came fast :)
