I have been trying to convert my 8mm camcorder cassettes to dvd, but I can?t seem to get them to playback in colour. My old camcorder (Sanyo VM- H100P) plays the cassettes back in black and white when watching the cassettes through the viewfinder, but when played back on television they are in colour- that is how it always was, so there is no problem there. I want to know if there is anyway I can get the cassettes to play back in colour also on my comp so I can record and burn them. I?m thinking I might have to setup the camcorder to the television and then from the television input it to my computer, but there will be too many cables. Is there some codec or something I can get that plays the cassettes in colour on my comp?
I am using ?Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 DVD Creator? (F5u228) to play the cassettes back on my comp using a composite video cable. I am using the bundled software Ulead VideoStudio 6 SE DVD to capture the videos, though I have not yet started because of this problem. I might, however, get some other software if that is the cause of the black and white playback.
Please help and thanks.
Quote:It took me a long time to figure out why it wasn't loading in colour, only B/W. As a European user, I needed to set all the PAL options (some are hidden in the video capture settings within VideoStudio 6 SE) to fix this. It does seem to handle MPEG2 at full rate, which for me loading VCRs was OK.
