I have yet to burn a working backup. I'm trying to get NFS:Carbon working. I have a 39001 Ps2 with Modbo 4.0 chip, Chip is installed right because I can get into the setup screen and there's a MATRIX logo at bootup. The PROBLEM I'm having is no matter what ripping/burning medods I've tried the Ps2 says " insert a PsX or Ps2 format disc", I've used DVD Decrypter to rip and burn ( set error read to off and stuff )tried Nero 7.0 premium, and cdrwin...Do I need to patch this game? and if so what patch..I've seen to many patches to know witch one to use...by the way I burnt the backups with TDK DVD-R's at 1x and at 4x burn....Please help anyone!!!!
could be media, could be that your burners firmware is old and out of date.
And Modbo chips are just cheap clone chips so they are not real great either.
1. update the firmware as this is the easiest and also free.
2. then try different media, buy in small packs of 3 or 5 until you find one that works every time. Verbatim, Philips, Taiyo Yuden, and even some Sony may work for you. I have used all but the sony of those with success. Never tried Sony.
also 8X DVD-R is what you want burned at 4X speed.
Thanks for the info, I have updated firmware/directX before hand, also I have a Duo3 that I haven't tried yet different ps2 console 30001-R...installing it tonight hopefully all IS well. Thanks again.
