WinRAR HELP NEEDED BADLY!!!

how do you use WinRAR to make files into files types like xxx.r001, xxx.r002 etc. i tired everything and couldn't find a thing and really have to find out because i need to upload my personal files onti orbit because i'm formatting my pc and they are very important...please can some help me!

Right click on the files, and click Compress "file.rar"
