Just got a pile of new DVDs that have recently come out and have had problems with half of them, especially the television shows.

As always, I try to use Shrink on its own on the first pass to save time. With DAY 5 of 24, it ripped, compressed and burned the first 2 discs out of 6 with no problem, then refused to do another one. These are brand new pristine discs. Tried to use DVD Decryptor, which copied them to a VIDEO-TS folder with no problem but pretty much the same problem when I went to go Shrink them.

Each time it is breaking down during the compression stage, not the burning.

"Arrested Devoplment" Season 3 did the same thing, cloning the first disc then refusing to do the second.

Ditto for CARS and THE BREAK-UP.

Has anyone managed to clone these discs using just Shrink and/or DVD Decryptor? It's been so long since I've burned, I totally forgot I have DVDFab Decryptor, which I will attempt to use on some of these now (if I can remember how to use it with Shrink LOL)

For Cars,I used DVD Shrink with IMG Burn I had no problems whatsoever..

DVDFab Decrypter (now up to 3.0.4.0 or 3.0.4.5 Beta) will do the Break-Up & Cars. Not come across Arrested Dev and haven't got '24'

My problem occured on season 5 disc 5. I intend to return mine and get new copies.

The error said it was dirt or scratched. They look good but that doesn't always mean their error free.

Return you discs to the store and demand new copies. It doesn't make sense that 5 of 6 will backup and one won't.

I'm starting to think the problem is with the Shrink program because now I'm getting an error message whenever I try to get it to open the files telling me it can't find them (I saved them all onto the HD using DVD Decryptor).

Which means I guess that I am totally screwed, isn't Shrink unavailable for download now?

You can still download Shrink - have a Google about...

Make sure you select File mode when ripping with DVDDec... and you select all the files when ripping ...long shot really as you have been using it ok up to now...

There's nothing wrong with shrink, you probably had decrypter rip the video files to your hard drive using ISO read mode, so you'll have .iso image files created. To open these files using shrink, just goto---> file--->open disk image.
