hi, i am a newb. i am looking to burn a number of media files onto a DVD+R DL. most of these files are 500-700 mb each (most are mpeg but several are AVI), and on average i will need to burn 2-3 of the files onto each disk (about 3 hours of dvd-quality video on one disk). what would be the best program to use for this type of media/file format if i am looking to add chapters? i would not be adding more than 8-10 chapters per disk. i have downloaded several of the top selling programs, because Nero express seems to freeze up when i try to burn these, but none of them would do what i needed. all i need is a good program that doesn't use up a whole lot of memory, that works with DVD+R DL disks that will allow me to add chapters. i don't even want to make menus. thanks alot for any help.
hello,i bought 1click dvd copy and copy to dvd in jan.at that time i beleive it was only 1 i could find with dual layer burning which is the main reason i bought it.i did try the 3 burn demo before buying it.i also use DVD43 decryptor with it.before 1click i used 321 studios dvdxcopy, and DVD Shrink.but not for dual layer burning.
the good points of 1click/copy to dvd.
1.writes to dual layer discs.i use fuji/memorex/verb DVD+R 2.4x dual layer discs.these have worked great for me.tdk/sony/hp brand i had a few problems with.so i stick with the 1st 3 listed.
2.great quality movie back ups.
3.copy to dvd was free with purchase.i have used this only a few times i had no problem working with it.this is great for discs that are scratched.also you can cut in to chapters.
4.1click dvd has burned EVERY MOVIE I HAVE BACKED UP!!!this is combined with DVD43.
5.very simple to use.
now to the bad points.
1.the yrly $20 fee to keep it updated.thats a drag :(
thats it.
i have read mixxed opinions, mainly neg ones which i think comes from the $20 yr update fee, from diffrent forums.other than that i think its great product and wouldnt use anything else.i will add i dont keep up with other software programs since i got 1 click dvd so i dont know if there others than burn dual layer.i use a pioneer ao8 108(i think thats the model)it reads/writes to dvd+/-r/rw dual layer and have watch them on sony dvp-ns5759 dvd player that reads dvd+/-r/rw dual layer media.
hope this long winded post helps. :)
-Do you believe you own your computer and shouldn't be told what you can run and do? Then say *NO* to Microsoft Vista!
-Since half the questions here involve media problems, here ya go: Only use Verbatim or Taiyo-Yuden discs (get your TYs from Rima.com, not Supermediastore or meritline). Forget the rest, no matter what "brand" they sell under. Always burn at 4x speed regardless of the speed rating of this discs or your drive. If you have burn problems with these then you have to update your drive's firmware. For double-layer discs, only use Verbatim DVD+R DL and burn them at 2.4x speed.
