What method are you using to play the game (modchip/HDLoader/swap)? You can try rebuilding the .ISO using Gnie's ExPERT v1.05.

if you say your using a modchip, you dont need a swap magic cd nor to rebuild it (although it is a good idea to rebuild EA games) so yeah you could try that but your problem is probably the dvd media you are using, what is the media you are using?

I'm having the same problem with a copy of fifa 07. Freezes on the loading screen just before a match starts.
I use swap magic coder and i've tried burning with Nero, Alcohol 120 and dvd-decryptor all with the same problem.
Can anyone offer any advice?
Thanks in advance for any help

Yes, you need to rebuild fifa 07, there are torrents out that are rebuilded for swap magic, i trust this is a backup.

Yeah its a backup.(little brother has bad habit of ruining my disks so have started to do backups of them for him to use instead of the originals).
Where would I go to find a rebuild torrent file? I know of a few sites but dont know any for ps2 stuff.
Or could I do it myself? If so, What progs files etc would I need?
Thanks

i dont really know how to do it yourself, although i hear its pretty easy, so just look around here and you should find it.
as for the downloading, just type it in google and you should get good searches.

to rebuild a game there is a guide in the stickies, see there,
for issues such as freezing, skipping black screens etc.
it means youve had a bad burn,
so what you do is get quality media dvd preferrably DVD-R 8x as these are most compatible with ps2. the best media is verbatim and taiyo yuden and others such as ritek and sony are also good,
when you burn the image file. use only dvd decryptor or img burn. three are guides on how to use these in stickies,
and just a general pointer, when burning dvd switch off ALLL appz in bckground including firewall and MSN and unplug your internet(or swith the modem off) this saves ram so you dont get anymore bad burns,
If all this fails then you need to clean your laser, there are guides on how to do this in the stickies (dont using laser cleaner cd/dvds cos they mess youre ps2 up.
really you guys should be checking the stickies, this stuff has been covered thousands of times in this forum (and that is not a sarcastic remark all this stuff HAS been covered literally thousands of times.)
hope this helps anyway
