Burning backups on LG writer

I am considering playing my backed up games by burning them on my LG DVD DL burner GSA-H10A. It supports bit setting, so I'd like to know if someone has any success in burning XBOX 360 backups without problems on the LG.
Also why is it that Pioneer burners are so much sought after for burning backups? Wouldn't any DVD DL burner which supports bit setting do? The media also, if written at 2x, should work out, right? What's so special about Verbatims?
Does anyone know why?

Could anyone give me some feedback on this. Any thoughts on this is appreciated.

i dont have a LG Burner but it should work if it supports booktyping...
i had no trouble wit nec at all and no 1 even mentioned it on the forums at all...

and bout the Verbs...i personally use Memorex to burn my backups...i use the Xtreme FW 5.2b and had no trouble

so as u can see that people experiment to try different things
