I almost have all the things needed to flash my Hitachi DVD Drive for the Xbox 360. All I need is a sata card. I was wondering which sata card I should get to flash my DVD drive.

Thats no good for a hitachi drive moto. He will want the SIL chipsets for flashing the hitachi

VIA 6421 works just fine for Hitachis. I've done 3 myself with a one no problems.

My mistake then. I could never get the VIA chip to work with the Hitachi, I always had to use the SIL chipset. Guess it was just something else in my setup

But will the 6421 get the drive into modeB with Slax? That's the question I want answered. I personally bought this card and it works 100% on all Hitachi drives, sans the 0078FK.

Btw, it's a SIL3112 chipset. Here's the system info from the device manager on it.

um so basically, if people dont have a sata port on thier motherboard, they should buy one of these? so a 6421 or 8237 chipset? if so, can these be obtained at any PC store? and also isit hard to install?
