v4 PS2 Not Booting After Dismantle. Need Help :-S

hey guys, today i stripped my v4 ps2 down to the motherboard to find out what mod chip i was running (i diddnt install it). after finding it was an "apple pro" im have now decided to update shortly.

back to the point.. its now not reading dvd discs. it reads cd's tho.
whenever i try boot a dvd disc you can hear the laser making two loud knocking sounds then goes to the "please insert a playstation 2 disc" screen.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

its not booting any coppied media. the cd i tested wasnt coppied.
im kinda thinking its got sumthin to do with the mod chip.

sorry guys false alarm. for some reason it is now working again. i just opened the top of the disc drive and checked the laser and gears.etc and now it works.

Well glad to hear its working again. The V4's are notorious for laser issues. The laser might need to be replaced soon. Or yeah you might want to upgrade to a chip like the MI or CC and start booting back-ups from the HDD with HDL.

I find v4's hard to mod with MI's B, H, and I wires. See link below.
