Ok.
I'm pretty new to burning and copying games, and I've got a problem with making a back up of, may I stress, *my* copy of C&C Generals.
I've glanced around this forum, and noticed others have had the same problem.
Although, I didn't understand the help given, mainly by Shoey.
Firstly, could you explain (to an idiot remember) what a "2 sheep burner" is?
I've simply no idea what you're on about.
:-)

Here's my hardware profile;
(E:) Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R1002
(F:) Philips CD-RW1610A
And for Software, I've got;
Alcohol 120% (Which I only downloaded earlier and haven't used yet)
ClonyXXL

Would it be possible for you to tell me if it is possible to copy C&C Generals with these CD Drives?
They're both CD-RW's, and do work, as I've used them to copy before.
I used to use the integrated XP copying thing on WIndows XP Pro.
Yeah, I forgot to tell you I'm using XP Pro.
******
So all I ask really, is for you to tell me quite simply how to copy both C&C Generals disks.
This really is much appreciated, and thank you for your time.
Azul.

Quote: Philips CD-RW1610A = NOT a "2 sheep burner"
. Read the image o cd 1 using Alcohol 120% (Safedisc 2 datatype profile using your Toshiba drive at 20x. Burn 8x using the Safedisc 2 datatype profile (RAW DAO) Go to emulation (Alcohol 120%) and enable "ignore media type" and minmimize Alcohol 120% in system tray (startup) and play the backup in your Phillips burner.
Most recommended (or popular) brand name 2 sheep burners (EFM encoding)

I must add however that although I am a fan of LG (I've bought 6 of their burners)... they have a program with lifespan. I find that although their drives are excellent they have a lifespan of ~1000 CDR(W)s... the telltale sign of when they are about to die is when you start having RW problems .... other than that, they are cheap and offer excellent performance for their cost :)

I couldn't agree more m8. I had 2 LG burners (12/24x) and gave them to family members and both have wen't to an early grave singing: "Oh when the burners come marchin' in, oh when the burners come marchin' in, oh how I'd love to be in that number, when those burners come marchin' in".
LG 16x= "2 sheep burner", go figure.....

LOL.... actually noew that i think about it... iwas extremely satisfied with their older models (up to and including their 16x burners).... its just their new drives that get toasted to easily (within a couple months they be dead)
PS. On two of my older systems I'm running LG12x and LG16x drives! :)
