Ok, im new here so can someone help me? I have the older ps2, one of the first ones to ever come out. I have no clue about mod chips or anything. I want to buy one and i know the website to go to, but how do i know which ones to buy? Do i have to buy a gameshark too? And also, i tried to download DVD Decrypter, but it made me download DVD fab something. What do i need to use to back up my games?

I have also read where a hd loader would be better. Is that true? How does it work

best modchip if you plan to get a hard drive, and if it will work with your version PS2 is a DMS4 Pro SE

DVD Decrypter & Alcohol 120% are the best software for
backing up games.
With a DMS4 Pro SE chip you would not need a gameshark or cheat
disc if you didn't want to use cheats. Even if you did with a little knowledge you could use MaxConvert and convert cheat codes to raw format, then they can be loaded right onto the flash memory of the chip.
DMS4 Pro also has a built in HD Loader so no extra software is needed

but make sure the chip will work with your version PS2
a lot of installers i know will not even mess with any model
that is a V4 or below as they are a real pain to install
a chip in.

What do u mean max convert and convert cheat codes to raw format? All i want to be able to do is play my backed up games on my ps2 by just putting it in the playstation and letting it load up.
