that vary's alot ! it can take anywhere from 1.5 hrs to ....! depending on your system, burner, the movie your copying.etc.etc. i tend to start one before i leave for work or before i go to bed. when i wake up its done. I have done them during the day too however my two year old has a tendancy to push the power button on my pc. needless to say if you need any coasters let me know... i have lots!!
Depends on: The size of the disc being ripped-full disc/main movie only= compression, AEC enhancements, processor speed/ram specs on pc. Shrink will max out your processor,so that's the main candidate to the ripping/analyzing/and encoding phases. Compression slows you down.Adding the AEC enhancements really slows you down, but a nice improvement during playback.
My main pc,specs are in my sig:
Dvd shrink,no compression,8x burn: 20 mins. I've done them under 17 mins with a 4x burn.
Dvd shrink,40% compression, Max smoothness,8x burn= 2 hrs
Dvd shrink,40% compression,Max Sharpness,8x burn= 1.5 hrs
Dvd shrink,20% compression,8x burn,max sharpness= 1 hr
Dvd shrink 5-10% compression,8x burn,no AEC enhancements= 25-30 min
Dvd-5 to DVD-5 using DVD Decrypter in Mode ISO read and ImgBurn at 8x: 5-7 mins to rip and 10 mins to burn.
Dvd-9 to DVD-9 using same Dvd decrypter/ImgBurn: About an hour with a 2.4x burn.
Dvd-5 to DVD-5 Burning on the fly with Nero6, AnyDVD,and 4x: 15 mins max
My pc is gradually slowing down after 1000's of backups,300 gbs of data between both HD's with DVD Shrink don't help either.
The ripping times with DVD Decrypter is screwy on my pcs. My main pc takes almost 10 mins to rip a DVD-5,while my P3 598 mhz celeron/256 mbs rimm can rip it under 5 mins. Specs will factor in when using shrink, not so much with DVD Decrypter.
