Well my buddy had his 360 flashed a while ago and when I burned him a few new games he said they didn't work. I flashed his xbox360 again with the latest Hitachi firmware and everything was fine except for one small problem. The games would boot fine but the fan would go insane and then sometimes the fan would get faster and louder then finally the xbox would crash, the screen go green and then the circle would flash red. My friend said I might have knocked off the heatsink? If this is the case is it fixable? Could it be because of a loose screw? He also said that only burned games make it go nuts and that regular retail games wouldn't cause a problem at all. Any ideas guys?

Reflash with birdy 2.2 fixed and see if the noise stops on backup games.

If you fiend is right and it is the heat sink it is possible to fix all you have to do is take the heatsink off the mother board remove th processor and apply some new heatsink glue. You can get it at a place like best buy, but that probably isn't the problem if the origonal games work on it.

How on EARTH I did this, i have no idea but I forgot the 6 or 8 small black screws that go in the middle of the metal piece when you put it back together. Replacing these screws fixed the problem completely. I feel like a idiot, but at least it's fixed. Thanks for the help.
