Which is the best connection for Audio from DVD player to my receiver or from my TV to my receiver. I am looking for the best audio sound I can get. I have Optical Audio or Digital Audio. Does it really make that much different.
I have Sony SXRD TV.
Basically I am trying to get the best way to connect my stuff so I can get the best output.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about the TV to the receiver but as far as true fidelity goes, from your DVD player to your receiver, if you have the option to use the optical (via the optical fiber) then go with that. This way, your DVD player is outputting direct pulses of light to represent audio rather than an electric signal.

Does your dvd player support HDMI ?
If so, send the HDMI cable from the back of your dvd player into the back of your t.v. (HDMI supports both audio and video) and then send the fiber optic audio cable from your t.v. to the back of your receiver.
Good pick on the SXRD, that t.v. is awesome.

Truly speaking, does it really matter if you use optical or digital Audio O/P? I realize optical is the best, but would our ears (filled with wax) know the difference between the two?

You won't hear a difference between the optical or digital coax. Most people tend to like the digital coax cables better, because you get a better (tighter) connection, and they're usually cheaper. Since digital coax is wire, there's always the possibility of interference. But, with the insulation on today's wires, that shouldn't be a problem.
They say for long runs, the optical is better. But avoid making sharp turns with an optical cable, or you'll break the glass fiber inside it.

@JVC...a little off subject but I finally bought a Harmony Remote and should receive it any day now. I wasn't about to spend $250 on a remote but this seemed to do everything I need and they bill it as idiot proof which I ALWAYS need LOL! It will be nice to set aside those terrible Denon and Oppo remote (and about a half dozen others). I'll let you know how I make out with it! (In certain areas, I'm something of a techno dunce).

@gerry..........
Good for you! I'll bet you like the Harmony, a lot. It's very easy to program, on the computer, and very easy to use. Mine is the 628, but looks just like your's. Only noticable difference is mine is blue, and your's is grey.
Enjoy!
