I saw someone overnight using RipIt4Me and a couple / few hours with just DVD Shrink. Are those reasonable times?!

Thanks!

I think you need to provide more info, on what movie you are doing. RipIt4Me should not take much longer to use with DVD Decrypter than usual, and only a few minutes for FixVTS.

I meant to say that I saw that someone said it took them minutes to backup a movie

In general it's taking hours, regardless of the movie. It's a 1.4 GHZ machine with 512 of ram running win xp pro... you think a faster machine / more ram make a big difference in time?

Probably, try closing down any of your programs that may be running in the background. It should not take hours in the ripping phase, but will take longer for Shrink, but still not hours unless you have the AEC settings on Max Smooth instead of default.

How you doing, been taking a little break from the computer for awhile. Just keeping up on my FFB team and enjoying the seasonal stress :)

RI4M shouldn't take more than 15 - 20 minutes to rip and FixVTS shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to process. If it's more than 30 minutes to an hr, then it is likely the issue is DMA.
