I have been doing some research on this site and I think I know what I have to do but I want to make sure.

I have the following-

PSP v 1.5
FW 1.5
FL v0.7

Problem:
I cannot play new PSP games that I try to rent.

Solution:
Install Devhook

Q:
Do I need to install anything else and should I upgrade my FW & FL versions? Same question?

I have files like Pro Evolution Soccer 5.ISO. When I play it my screen goes BLACK.

A: Download a compressor?

Any reconmendations on where exactly to get these programs?

Any help will be of help.

Wait I thought he had firmware 1.5, if so, that guide wont work.

To install DevHook and run ISOs/new UMDs on firmware 1.5, see my guide:

No. Following my guide wont upgrade your PSP to 3.02! It just allows DevHook to emulate firmware 3.02. If you turn off your PSP and turn it on again you will be back in firmware 1.5.

I mean the root of your PSP. Its the place where the PSP folder is. No you dont have to make a new folder.

You are on the right track. Your PSP has not rebooted, but it is emulating firmware 3.02. Insert a UMD (any UMD will work) and then go to GAME-->UMD and your ISO will load.

I was messin wit hthe Boot Mode option
WHat should it be?

So I picked the game.
I see the name of the file at the bottom of the screen
I go to the top and hit START

THe screen says it needs to reboot.. It turns off but not back on.

I turn it back on. Load a UMD (demo) and hit start.

All I see is the Demo playing.

I guess I will have to pick this up tomorrow. Any reply will be helpful.

Thanks

dont mess with any of the options as most of the time it causes devhook to boot improperly. the settings it come with pre-set are the ones you want to go with (.46+)

Im not sure until I get home.

I know theres three options.

Any idea what it should be on?

And the reason why I couldnt get the game to work....um...was because it was still a torrent. I have it doing what it needs to be done as we speak. When I get back tonight I will try to load.

When you follow my guide and download DevHook, when you extract the archive there will be a MS_ROOT folder. Now copy the contents of that folder to the root of your memory stick.

You most likely didn't copy everything correctly. Which method are you using? Is it the automatic or manual method? Also what does the root of your memory stick(X:\)look like(i.e what are the files in it)

Where in the PSP do I put in the game?

I have it in the origal ISO file. I go into Devhook and choose the file. I see it on the bottom of the screen. I hit start on top and now the PSP shuts down.

I have my Demo in when I restart the thing. Nothing....

You put ISO files in X:\ISO\ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP).

What ISO are you trying to run? Did you download it? It might be a bad ISO.

Did you go to GAME-->UMD and press X?

I used Azarus (how ever u spell it) and then I followed the guide here. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/361257

I picked both folders and put it in UMDGEN .
Question-
When I name the file do I have to add .iso at the end of the file?

I then place this into the ISO file.
I go into Devhook and pick the file.
I hit Start.
PSP shuts down.
When I restart I put in the UMD demo.
Hit x and the Demo starts.
