Hey, I have a problem with my philips dvp 642 that I can't seem to find anywhere else on the net-

when it plays any of my DivX or XviD files, it loads them up saying "Reading index" and then on the other side of the screen it says "00:00" , then after the movie loads the "reading index" will disappear, but the time on the top-right of the screen will keep counting and is really distracting. I can't figure out a way to turn it off- there are no options settings or buttons on the remote that affect it. I do not have the same problem with VCDs, SVCDs or DVDS.. any ideas?

is there an option somewhere to reset settings to factory default? i used that player for over a year and never had that problem with divx/xvids...the player did eventualy die (would come back with "no disc" on everything) and i since switched to a dvp5142 which plays everything perfectly.
