I have found this package when I ran a google for my model #. In the part at the very top it says v12-14, indicating it would work with SCPH 75001. When I read the description it says, "A flip top cover for the PStwo (slimline SCPH-7000X)". I wonder if that means it won't work with SCPH 75001 or maybe that it simply hasent changed since earlier models and would work with the v14 SCPH 75001 as well. I am sooo confused. Thank you very much.

That will work on any current slim model.

Although swap magic wouldnt be my first choice. A good modchip like the CC or MI would.

Cool. Thanks for the info. The main reason I was looking into swap magic is because I didn't want to woid my warranty. You know anything about macic keys 2??

If you plan on buying that flip top lid you will be voiding your warranty. I have heard may people bitch about the magic keys. Screw the warranty and get it done right LOL.

but whatever you do HAVE FUN!

The likelyhood of your PS2 needing repair during the 1 year warranty is slim, they make sure it will work for a year and a month :p

Other than that, Sony Canada has charged me shipping on repairs for my old PS2 about 3 times out of 4. They didn't even fix it... EVER. In fact, one time they asked me to send a game, controller and memory card so they can play test it afterwards. They sent it back saying there was no problems and then my memory card didn't work ever again, gameshark saids the 8MB card is a 1000kb or so card... In the end they couldn't even fix it so they sent me a Slim PS2 for free (first gen slim though...)

So yea, forget about the warranty and get a modchip, you'll thank yourself later.

And if you don't wanna dish out the cost of a CC or something else top-o-the-line I'd suggest something along the line of the Duo3. They are cheap but I've heard very good things from them considering its a "clone" Don't go with Magic V's or anything like that. And with a slim, you'll need a laser fix as well. Not to mention paying instal fee's if your unsure of your soldering ability. I have solder experience but I'm not sure if I can afford to mess up my PS2, so I'm going Duo3 with laser fix and install... ends up being about the price, or less, than just the CC.

Good luck with w/e you choose.
