1X1000 apologies if i'm going over old ground beleive me I have read hundreds of threads and can't find what hits the nail on the head.
I've just had a matrix infinity installed and am unable to boot PS2 back up dvds. I get the matrix logo and can access the config menu but I can't get it to install firmware. I've used loads of media and the best i can get is a screen that says' ps2 disc, x to enter or o back' but no 'on screen instructions' and when i press x nothing happens.
can play originals and dvds fine so i think the laser is good. could it be a chip install problem?. V9 by the way.
any one able to help/got ideas ??

Open up the PS2 check and take a picture of the install and the chip. You might have a fake chip/clone chip. Or bad install.

Sounds like a bad install for sure. It appears the your bios points are correct. This is why you get the Matrix logo and can access the config menu. It appears however that your CDVD points are incorrect. There are the points that patch the console to see back-ups are originals. These points would be A, B, G, H, I

Btw you should fix that V9 /V10 laser issue that i just remembered

If you dont your laser will die out especially if you have a mod installed
