SCPH-70001
I've installed DMS4 SE PRO and Neo Fix XIV.
Sometimes I get errors "Unable to read disk", but when I open the cd tray, take out and then put the DVD in and then close the tray the problem goes away and I play the DVD's normal.
I hear something like scratching sound, but quiet. Is this normal?
I can play Maxell, Verbatim DVD+R, but I don't know, if this is a good media, or it can demage the laser?
What standart to use DVD-R or DVD+R?
I dont want my console to go away for 1-2 months.
I think the wiring of the chip is bad, because the wires are crossing each other more than 1-2 times.
Should I remove the laser fix? Should I go to reinstall the chip with new wires properly routed?
I would leave the laser fix, although i do not think that
the V13 needed one.
You have one of the best chips out there so you will like it.
8X DVD-R would be my first choice of media, and the Verbatim should be just fine.
If you want to see good wiring then vist Teammodders.com
look in the forums, PS2 section, and they have install pictures
As far as the reading problem, it may be that the chip is not installed 100% correct, or possibly that you may have bumped the laser out of alignment when you were installing it.
Or even that the lens got dirty and needs cleaning. It
is very hard to tell why it would do that.
since i play most of my games from my hard drive i do not remember if i heard any scratching noises, but i do not remember any.
